things i am against

i'm a hater. i love hating things.

i'm a boomer about a select group of things and here is a page that encapulates that. enjoy.

tiktok

ai hate that people rely on an algorithm to give them things to watch. this leads to people getting trapped. i dont like how people just be listening to tiktoks in public with no headphones on. i don't like that there is just blatant misinformation being spread around there like its tumblr 2012 or something.

i don't like how everyone censors every litle thing and how this speak is being translated over to youtube or in real life. having bad words in the tiktok doens't even effect how it's spread i don't think?? i hate that the type of people that create content on there. i don't like that the time limit is so long - if you want something to be funny, it needs to be short. this is why vine worked so well. having people try to prolong the joke for 3 minutes doesn't translate for snappy humour.

i just saw a tumblr post today about rating your spice tolerance and apparently on booktok (also hate that people now use the suffix "-tok" for things) people are calling smut 'spice' now. there's already a non-offensive euphemism for porn in writing, it's smut. (shout out to tom lehrer for an amazing song)

generative ai

i've been meaning to write about this. i don't like the world's fascination with ai. speciically i have a problem with generative ai.

i had to research how ai would impact the ux program at my school and i started collecting sources to write an article/paper about it. then when i got around to writing the paper i got so upset i had to stop writing.

one of my professors is super into gen ai and pays for chatgpt plus,,, and i just.... and i had to use it for class twice. ughhhhhhhhhh. some of my classmates are super into chatgpt also.

one time we had to write somthing short individually and then during class we went into small groups to combine what we wrote. i was trying to practice letting other people do things instead of taking everything over. and this guy used chatgpt to do it. and then when the professor read it out loud, it sounded like garbage and went agaisnt the format that we were supposed to follow.

that experience further fueled my passion for the phrase "why would i bother to read something you didn't bother to write"

i do have a tag on my tumblr so i guess check there if you want to ruin your day with more ai bullshit.
